Interesting insight into WW2
The Year 4 trip to Swindon's 'STEAM' Museum was incredibly exciting for us all. The boys had three interesting activities to attend during their visit. The first was a group discussion and role-play based around WW2 air raids. They experienced first-hand what it was like to be in an air raid shelter and they handled real WW2 artefacts. Then, after an insightful tour around the Museum, the boys were lined up and evacuated at the museum's railway platform. The boys had the chance to rummage through evacuees’ suitcases and discover what items the children were likely to take with them on their journey away from home. Finally, when the boys arrived in 'the countryside', they were billeted and some were lucky enough to be picked by a handsome police officer, a rather rugged farmer, a delightful lady who owned a flower shop and the Lady of the Manor! The boys all represented Moulsford extremely well and learnt so much.
