Our Wonderful World

The children in Year 2 delivered a fantastic Assembly this week all about ‘Our Wonderful World’. The Lions and Leopards have been learning about the planet and all of the things we need to be doing to protect it.

The children took turns to read the book ‘Dear Earth’ by Isabel Otter. The story is about a little girl called Tessa who writes a love letter to the Earth, beginning the start of a glorious adventure. She blows bubbles with whales, soars with birds and joins in with the noisy rainforest hullabaloo!
Tessa wants everyone to know how special our planet is and the words really resonated with the Year 2s.

The children showed us their amazing rainforest artwork and concluded their Assembly with a prayer, before singing ‘He’s Got the Whole World in his Hands’.

They all delivered their lines with confidence and lots of expression and the audience, made up of their parents and the children in Reception and Year 1, all loved it. Well done!
