Spectacular culinary skills on show
What an incredibly busy time we have had this term and the Showstopper Round last week really did bring all charitable activities to a suitably Grand Finale. All the boys really excelled themselves and huge congratulations must go to all the competitors for all their efforts throughout the whole competition, thank you so much! With our theme this year being Animals, relating to our two school charities, Hearing Dogs for Deaf People and George Adamson Wildlife Preservation Trust, it was wonderful to see such a brilliant array of creativity in all the Showstopper decorations and designs, as well as an incredible attention to detail which all the judges commented on.
All the boys who got through to the Showstopper Round did brilliantly, the standard of baking was particularly high this year and it made the judges’ decision very difficult to make. The whole school was able to view the judging in three Showstopper Assemblies and we are hugely grateful to Julie and Ellie from the catering staff, for giving feedback, in front of an audience. The overall winner this year is Archie B in Year 4 for his delicious, chocolate dachshund. Both the judges commented on how light the texture of the sponge was and how lovely the chocolate custard tasted.
The Showstopper Auctions at the end of each school day were incredibly well received and have made a big difference to the overall total raised through the Moulsford Boys’ Cake Off 2018 – an excellent amount of £889.76. Thank you to all who have supported our charities through this event. Yet again the Moulsford Community has come together to support others less fortunate than ourselves. It really is a massive team effort and quite simply would not be possible without everyone lending a hand, thank you so much!
