Government Funding for Pre-Schoolers
Moulsford is a registered childcare provider and offers up to 15 hours of free childcare between 8.30 - 11.30am and 12.30 - 3.30pm, Monday to Friday during our term times, from the term following a child’s third birthday until the term in which they turn 5 years of age. Please learn more about this and other government initiatives to support parents with childcare costs on the Choices website. It is important to check eligibility, as your child’s date of birth will affect when you can start claiming. The cut off dates for application for those who have turned 3 are 31st December, 31st March and 31st August each year, so if your child’s birthday falls between one of these dates and the start of the following term, you will not be able to claim government funding for that term, but can do so for the one after that.
Please note that the government funding that we receive to offer the 15 free hours is not enough to maintain the high-quality education that we pride ourselves on at Moulsford. The government website states ‘The funding is not intended to be used to cover the costs of meals, consumables, any additional hours or additional services’. Parents who take up a funded place are therefore charged a small fee to help cover additional expenses such as specialist activities, supplies, snacks and consumables used during free childcare hours.

Tax-Free Childcare
Moulsford accepts payment via the Government’s new Tax-Free Childcare scheme run through an HMRC account. The Government may pay £2 for every £8 you pay via an online account if you are eligible. Sibling Discount
A discount of 20% will be applied to the net school fees for the third, fourth and any subsequent children assuming that at least 3 children are enrolled at the school. There is no discount for supplementary charges.
