Spring growth

This week I noticed that many of the children suddenly seem to have 'shot up' and even in my short time at the school, I have spotted new haircuts, missing teeth (scramble the tooth fairy!) and a certain confidence which arises at this point in the academic calendar. It is at this time of the year when the children really take off and we begin to look ahead with excitement to the Summer Term and the many events which mark transition to a new year group.

This ties in nicely with our curriculum learning where the children have been growing beans and sunflower seeds and plotting the changes which take place as the plants grow and flourish. We have been making good use of Mr Beardmore-Gray’s garden and there are definitely some green fingered children amongst us, whose willingness to check on the garden during playtime has been much appreciated!

We look forward to the Show and Share events taking place in Pre-Prep next week and hope to share a few Easter songs which we have been learning with Mrs Braden during our weekly singing assembly which takes place on Wednesday mornings. I have long enjoyed gathering children together for a collective sing song, which is always a fun and rewarding way of connecting as a school and has numerous wellbeing benefits including calming your heart rate and boosting the immune system would you believe! Hoping we can raise the roof (and boost your immune systems!) next Thursday and Friday and I look forward to seeing many of you then.
