Thank you to all who attended our recent Parents’ Evening.

As teachers, the regular dialogue we have with you is key because you provide us with insights and information that deepens our understanding and enhances our ability to meet the needs of your son or daughter. We give you information about their progress and interactions with their peers in school, while you tell us how you see their development. We can celebrate together and work in tandem to support the child through more challenging times. Honesty is essential.

Education really is a partnership between home and school and everything we do to strengthen this benefits your child. When we both provide clear, fair, consistent boundaries they feel secure which allows them to relax and learn. If the boundaries are inconsistent, too strong or lacking completely the child is confused, their behaviours can reflect this and learning can be compromised.

Between us we help them to develop a moral compass which lasts them a lifetime. Moulsford’s values of kindness, courage and curiosity are central to everything we do and our aim is that each child takes these as their own - if family and school values are aligned this will happen easily and naturally.

As your child develops, we all want them to become responsible for their actions, their possessions and their learning: this nurtures self-esteem and an inner confidence.  At this stage, part of this is looking after their clothing and putting everything away carefully - we would really appreciate you encouraging this at home. Saying goodbye to you quickly each morning and getting on with their day, is also much appreciated by us.

If you haven’t yet spoken with your child’s class teacher, please grab the opportunity to do so - the discussion the class teacher has with you benefits your child enormously.

Meanwhile, I hope you enjoy a relaxing half term.
