Sunny day out by the river
Yesterday in the blazing sunshine, Year 3 visited The River and Rowing Museum in Henley on Thames. The trip is part of this term’s Humanities topic on ‘Rivers’. The boys walked along the tow path to Marsh Lock, where they saw how a lock works and how the weir helps with River Management. They also visited the Museum galleries where they examined artefacts found near the river and learnt how Henley grew from a small settlement to the bustling market town of today. The trip ended with time in a classroom investigating rivers with really practical experiments and demonstrations. The trip was a great success and the boys seem to have learnt a lot. The boys’ behaviour was exceptional and the staff received a number of positive comments from members of the public about how well-mannered the boys were.
