A fun day studying the River Thames
Year 3 visited The River and Rowing Museum in Henley on Thames on Thursday. The trip is part of this term’s Humanities topic on ‘Rivers’. The boys walked along the tow path to Marsh Lock, where they saw how a lock works and how the weir helps with River Management. We had a fabulously sunny day to enjoy our picnic lunch by the river.
The boys also visited the museum galleries where they examined artefacts found near the river and learnt how Henley grew from a small settlement to the bustling market town of today. The trip ended with time in a classroom investigating rivers with practical experiments and demonstrations.
