The Wizard of Oz, Watermill Theatre
Last Monday the whole of the Pre-Prep went to the Watermill Theatre in Newbury to see The Wizard of Oz. The children were treated to songs and music following Dot’s journey to visit the Wizard. Along the way she met Lionel who was looking for courage, the Tinman who didn’t have a heart and Scarrow who wanted a brain.
The Watermill Theatre is such an intimate space and the Year 2 children were almost close enough to be in on the action; they behaved impeccably throughout, even when the wicked witch Westly’s bird sought them out!
Even our youngest children were captivated throughout the production and were pleased when Dot was finally reunited with Toto.
It was lovely to see a live performance in such a wonderful setting.
