Expedition to Rushall Farm
On Monday the intrepid Leopards, Lions and Lynx set forth on an expedition to Rushall Farm in Bradfield. The weather was glorious. It is rumoured that cats don’t like water but these particular cubs enjoyed dipping in the River Pang … and it wasn’t just the nets that got wet! A number of sticklebacks, water spiders and dragonflies will never be the same again. The boys’ attention was certainly diverted when they found out that water boatmen breathe through their bottoms. Other treats included hand feeding (and cuddling) the chickens and turkeys, unearthing a toad from beneath a log and inspecting the chalk pit. The highlight, as is ever the case, was lunch and a kick about with a football! This year we were prepared and brought our own.
It was the perfect start to our academic year - hands-on learning, sunshine, happy faces and full tummies. Here’s looking forward to more of the same.
