Head's Blog: Festive Preparations

Head's Blog

The Christmas tree is going up in the front hall this weekend with the Boarders’ doing the decorating on Monday, which means the festive season is clearly upon us! Next week heralds several Christmas productions including the Year 3 Christmas Play and Year 4 concert on Tuesday, and the Pre-Prep Play on Thursday. These productions provide a fantastic opportunity for boys in the lower years to perform in front of an audience. Both the staff and the boys have thoroughly enjoyed preparing for these productions.  The Senior Choir will be visiting Rush Court to spread some Moulsford festive cheer among the elderly residents and the term ends with the Carol Service at Pangbourne College.

Christmas really does allow Moulsford to highlight the performing arts and on Saturday 7th December we will host the always popular Parents Association Christmas Fair.  We hope that many of you will be able to attend what promises to be a tremendous morning. Not only will you be able to listen to the Junior Choir, Senior Choir, and the Jazz ensemble, but you will also have the opportunity to shop at a wide selection of excellent stalls while raising valuable funds for the Parents Association. The school is extremely grateful to the PA team led by Emma Bowring for organising this super event.

Whilst it is wonderful to embrace the Christmas spirit and all that the festivities brings, we were also reminded by 6W in their excellent assembly on Thursday that ‘presence’ is often more important than ‘presents’, and kindness to one another is one of the greatest gifts we can give.  In the current political climate it seems like a good message to pass on!
