The meaning of Christmas
6W's assembly this week looked at Black Friday, Advent and Christmas. The boys considered the effect of marketing and Black Friday advertising on the modern Christmas experience, discussed the true meaning of Advent (beyond daily chocolate!) and even took some staff opinions on what they wanted for Christmas, with some interesting answers and a bit of wishful thinking in evidence!
We finished by considering the things that are truly important to us at Christmas; family and friends, sharing time together, kindness to one another and finished by reminding everyone that it is the PRESENCE of these things rather than the PRESENTS we receive that make Christmas the special time that it is.
