Head's Blog

At the time of publishing this newsletter, The Sporting Lunch held at the RAC in London will be drawing to a close. Former England and Bath rugby player David Flatman did the honours as our compère, and we were delighted to welcome international referee, Luke Pearce, as our special guest. Thank you to the team of Moulsford Dads and staff who have worked hard as a committee to organise this very special event and to the generous donors of the auction lots.

My thanks also to all who have supported this event and particularly to our 180 guests. We are especially pleased to have representation from Moulsford Dads across all year groups in the school, as well as a large number of former parents. It was also a pleasure to host staff from Abingdon, Bloxham, Bradfield, Cheltenham College, Eton, Harrow, Marlborough, Pangbourne, Radley, Sherborne, Shiplake, St. Edward’s Oxford, The Oratory and Wellington. The lunch provides an excellent opportunity for both Moulsford staff and parents to forge even stronger links with our senior schools.

This is the tenth Moulsford RAC lunch and over the years roughly £144,000 has been raised for a number of excellent causes. All funds raised at today’s lunch will go to Sport in Mind, a charity based in Reading whose stated aim is "to improve the lives of people experiencing mental health problems through sport and physical activity." We feel that this mission statement resonates well with the Moulsford community and know that the funds raised today are going to a really good cause.
