An intrepid excursion for Bobcats
Bobcats had a super day at the Living Rainforest, near Newbury, this week. We learnt about the edible forest and some of the animals that live there. We had a very interesting tour and smelt chocolate, vanilla, coffee and ginger and saw the banana trees growing with real bananas on them! Our guide helped us to understand how simple food chains work and how people grow crops. It was very hot in the rainforest and we looked at a globe to find out where they are in the world. We loved looking at the animals and had to be careful as we walked round as there were some animals freely roaming about. Some of our favourites were the toucan, butterflies, monkeys, carpet snakes and the armadillo. Mrs English found the elusive sloth hanging high above the monkey cage which made our day!
Bobcats were a delight to take out, and we all enjoyed a play in the playground too. Thank you boys for a super school trip and for being so well behaved as well as having lots of fun!
