Inspiring author talks to Years 4 to 8
We were delighted to welcome award-winning author Katherine Rundell to Moulsford today to speak to pupils in Years 4 to 8. Amongst other titles, Katherine is the author of Impossible Creatures, named Waterstones Book of the Year for 2023.
Katherine spoke to pupils about her adventures across the globe, her love of animals and how she comes up with the ideas for her books. The pupils then worked with Katherine to come up with their own concept for a story which they titled ‘Sweet Death’ and which followed main characters Henry and Alice and their discovery that vampires run the local sweet shop!
In honour of Katherine’s visit, Mrs Manning also turned the Library into an explorer-themed Escape Room, which 5N visited this afternoon, and which will be in use all of next week.
Everyone felt very lucky to have heard such an inspiring writer come into school and we are grateful to parent William Fiennes for his help in making this happen.
