Ramadan and Being the Best Version of Yourself

6MC performed their Form Assembly to parents and the rest of the school on Thursday, where they explained all about Ramadan and why this pillar in Islamic faith is so important. There was a focus on the act of fasting and they explained to the audience that fasting is a private act of worship bringing about nearness to God, as well as a form of spiritual discipline and a means to empathise with those less fortunate.

The boys highlighted some high-profile Muslim sportsmen such as Sir Mo Farah and Mo Salah, who both continue to train or play whilst fasting and Great British Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain who has to bake yummy goodies during her fast! There was a lot of discussion amongst the hungry children about how difficult fasting must be but how this reflection and spirituality can help you be the best version of yourself.

The whole class performed brilliantly, remembering all of their words and delivering their lines with lots of enthusiasm and humour.
