Talk by Kayam Iqbal
The third year of High Performance Lunchtimes at Moulsford Prep School began with a virtual visit from Kayam Iqbal. Kayam founded the Oppo Foundation which supports military veterans to return to civilian life. After working in the military, Kayam was led by his passions which then took him forward to great things in his career. We chatted about 'non-negotiables' and Kayam was keen to emphasise the importance of encouragement and constructive criticism in life. His advice to his teenage self was to say that 'anything is possible and it is always worth trying.' This came from a background where he felt he had to conform and the ideas weren't his own. Kayam's greatest strength is his resilience and said that his biggest weakness was that he tries to do 'too much too quickly'.
It was a great start to the year and we are grateful to Kayam for giving up his time.
