A lively literary week
Pre-Prep have enjoyed the most wonderful World Book Week – it has been non-stop literary fun! At the start of the week the children worked in their House groups and took part in a carousel of crafting to create different pieces of art and craft all around stories. In Tigers and Wildcats they made paper plate craft of different Julia Donaldson characters including the ladybird from What The Ladybird Heard, the witch from Room On The Broom and the Gruffalo!
On Monday all of the children from Pre-School up to Year 2 also spent time with MC Grammar which they loved, with the highlight being some ‘interesting’ rap performances from their teachers.
On Tuesday afternoon, the excited Bobcats brought their teddies to school for a sleepover in the classroom. Teeth were brushed, faces were washed and sleepy stories read. The Bobcats tucked their bears up and hoped they would settle down for the night. Some bears were a little nervous and wanted to go home but some remained and there was much excitement the next morning as the Bobcats returned to wake their sleeping bears and find out about the hijinks they had got up to the night before!
On World Book Day, as well as enjoying the chance to dress up, the children were visited by two authors, first was Giles Andreae and then author and illustrator Debi Beaumont. The children loved listening to them read from their own books and we are grateful that they both took the time to make our World Book Day extra special.
Also making it special were the thirty Pre-Prep parents who came in to school to read to the children throughout the week, under the supervision of the Moulsford staff. It was so wonderful to share the literary fun with the whole Moulsford community.
