Inspiration for the boys
The Moulsford lunchtime talks series has continued over the last two weeks with some inspiring visitors both virtually and in person.
Last week, we were joined by Dr Chris Whittier who is an internationally experienced field veterinarian and infectious disease research scientist with expertise in wildlife conservation, ecosystem health, and overseas project management. He joined the boys virtually from America and discussed his work with gorillas in Africa and centred on the importance of teamwork and trust as important components of what he does.
This week, we were joined by Invictus Games athlete Spencer Bull who was hugely inspiring and attracted the record crowd of nearly 60 boys! Spencer talked about the importance of: fun, family and positivity. His words on the courage needed to develop mental strength were fantastic. The talk ended with Spencer encouraging the boys to 'live for the day'.
Huge thanks must go to Tim and Jane Vallings (Parents of Billy in 7P) who have facilitated these two speakers. The boys have been hugely inspired by all four speakers this half term and we look forward to more in the second half of term.
If any parent has the potential to facilitate a similar type of speaker then please feel free to get in contact with Mr Weeks
