High Performance Lunchtime and DJ Workshop
It was such a pleasure to welcome Old Mole Tris Rothschild (along with his brother Barnaby who left in 2014) back to be High Performance Lunchtimes guest number 75! Tris left the school in 2010 and went on to Stowe School and Uppingham and is now an accomplished DJ.
Tris was interviewed this week by Ben C and Percy W who asked some of our usual questions and then opened the floor to questions from our audience. Some of the highlights from his talk were as follows:
- The importance of being kind and personable
- The demons of procrastination and his phone!
- The importance of working hard
- The value in opening yourself up to meeting loads of people
- The importance of networking
- The value in playing the small gigs as these are the ones that give you the experience to land the bigger gigs in the future.
- How valuable ones 'flow state' is in order to deal with nerves
In a world where online presence seems to dominate children's lives, it was lovely to hear Tris talk about the importance of being kind and personable! It was great to see another ex-pupil following their dream!
Following the talk Tris then gave a DJ workshop to some of our senior musicians, who all learned a huge amount as the tunes pumped out of the theatre!
