We hope you enjoy the new look ‘Week Ahead’ and ‘Weekly Round-Up’. Parents may also have seen the very exciting news regarding the launch of our new Pre-Prep on ‘Bonfire Field’. The original intention had been to launch this in April 2020 for a September 2021 opening, but we paused to take stock when Covid struck. We are now delighted to confirm the go ahead for this fantastic project with a revised opening date of September 2022. Do take a look at the virtual tour which brings the whole project to life.
There is strong demand for places in the Moulsford Pre-Prep at present and this state-of-the-art new building will give boys an outstanding facility to begin their educational journey. However, there are also excellent spin-off benefits for Moulsford boys in Years 3 to 8 as significant classroom and playground space will become available for these year groups when the Pre-Prep moves across the road. We are considering many plans for these areas such as a new library, a learning support hub, social rooms and a cookery classroom. The flow of the car park will also be significantly eased, and in due course we will share with parents our plans on how the drop off/collection on both sides of the road will be managed.
On Monday we had a virtual Parents Association (PA) meeting. An enormous thank you to all those parents who work so hard for the benefit of the boys and the school. It is greatly appreciated by the Moulsford community. A wonderful example of this was the Bag2School initiative that the PA organised on Thursday which was a huge success, and we are really grateful to all parents for getting behind this excellent scheme. The donations are currently being weighed and we’ll have more news for you next week on the total collected.
A flagship PA and Moulsford community event is the Christmas Fair. After many years of running this excellent morning, the Christmas Fair Leads are stepping down from their roles, which means that the PA have some exciting new positions available. The Fair is an amazing event for the boys, staff and parents to enjoy together, and the PA are planning to hold the 2021 Christmas Fair in the Sports Hall, in person – hooray!
The PA are looking for a Main Lead for the Christmas Fair, to organise a team of fellow volunteers and ensure the smooth running of the day. They have some experienced task-forcers on hand to assist, and the School is fully supportive of all aspects of the event. Within the team, the PA also need two volunteers to organise the Stalls - one person for the external stalls and one person to oversee internal class stalls. Although Christmas may seem a long way off, the PA needs to get moving now on this project to ensure the best external stalls do not get booked up!
