Interesting insight into WW2

The highly anticipated Year 4 trip to Swindon's 'STEAM' Museum took place this week with the boys becoming evacuees for the day.  The boys had a whole host of interesting activities during their visit and got to experience first-hand what it was like to be in an air raid shelter.

Later on the boys were lined up and evacuated at the museum's railway platform before learning about the use of trains during wartime. The boys had the chance to rummage through evacuees’ suitcases and discover what items the children were likely to take with them on their journey away from home. Finally, when the boys arrived in 'the countryside', they were billeted and some were lucky enough to be picked by a rugged station guard, a dashing farmer (Mr Sage!), a delightful lady who owned a pub (Miss Browne) and an honourable policewoman (Miss Avery)!

The boys all represented Moulsford extremely well and learnt a great deal.
