Celts v Romans

On a bright and clear Monday morning Year 5 travelled to Watling Street (the astro) to re-enact Boudicca's attempt to drive the Romans from British soil. The Celts (in blue) had a clear advantage in numbers but as the battle wore on The Romans' efficiency and organisation took its toll, with their leader surveying his troops from his chariot! The Roman shields withstood the Celt's assault (sponge balls) with ease and Boudicca was vanquished, with Roman rule to continue for another 348 years.

Huge thanks go to Mr Squire and Mike (our DT technician) for building outstanding props and to Mr Smith for co-ordinating such a realistic re-enactment.
