Talks and Assemblies Academic

A focus on English, Sport and Art

On Wednesday, Mrs Squire led another afternoon Celebration Assembly to highlight the positives from the academic week and to encourage all boys to aspire to do the best work they can.  Many congratulations to all those who deserved a special mention this week.

  • The Languages Star of the Week was Year 7’s Zac McC
  • In Year 7 Harry O had written a brilliant discursive essay on rights and responsibilities in English
  • The Under 9 rugby team received a special mention for their teamwork
  • Year 3 were congratulated for their Mayan masks
  • In 6A, Ben A and Henry S had written excellent sonnets about fishing and a pet dog.  In 6W, James D was celebrated for his sonnet on the seasons and Bertie W for his sonnet about Brexit!  In 6J, Noah B and Hector B had used sonnets to create Winter inspired blackout poems
  • Harry Co, Harry Ca and Luke F were celebrated for their work on editing fiction stories

Many congratulations to all those who received mentions in this Celebration Assembly.  We look forward to seeing more excellent work after Christmas.

On the subject of celebrations, we are also delighted to feature once again in The Cricketer magazine Top 50 cricketing Prep Schools in the UK.
