This is such a special time of the school year, with so much going on. We really enjoyed welcoming the Year 3 parents into school yesterday for their Open Classroom event, to see all the wonderful work their boys have produced this year. Across the school, the children continue to work very hard, and also gain so much from the many additional activities which take place as the end of term approaches. Next week we are looking forward to hosting Summer Fields and St. John’s Beaumont for our first Year 5 Cricket Festival on Wednesday, with this event being designed to give boys (not in the A teams) the opportunity to experience a cricket tournament. On Thursday, our Year 2 boys will be playing in a mini tournament with the Year 3s as part of their transition to the Prep school for September.

The excitement and anticipation around the school is palpable for Moulsford’s Got Talent which takes place this evening. In light of the unsettled forecast, we have relocated this to the marquee and are thoroughly looking forward to what is always a wonderful evening. While it has made concentration difficult at times, I’ve loved hearing the boys rehearse for the event directly outside my office this afternoon.

Also this afternoon, I had the great pleasure of giving the Year 8 boys in 8M and 8E (and Theo in 8W) their Common Entrance results. This was such a special occasion and I am delighted to report that, collectively, the boys have all done exceptionally well, scoring what we believe are the strongest set of grades achieved by a Moulsford Year 8. In addition to these excellent results, the boys have also achieved five academic scholarships to their senior schools. Well done to our Year 8s, who will all join their senior schools in September in a position of strength, and will leave Moulsford on a high. Please click this link for details of the senior schools that our Year 8 boys will graduate to, as well as the same information from previous years.

At the end of this month we will say farewell to Claire Harley who has given twenty-four years of outstanding service to Moulsford as the Head’s PA. Claire will be here for Prize Giving and we will ensure that she receives an excellent Moulsford send off.
