Year 4 Victories
Three boys from Year 4 competed in the Shiplake cross country race last weekend held over 1500m, around the school playing fields.
Oliver B started very quickly, and moved into an immediate lead. A little further behind were Finn R and Lucas R who were running with the main pack. As the initial pace slowed, Lucas moved into 2nd place, chasing Oliver. Finn had paced himself sensibly and was able to overtake Lucas after about 1000 m. The pair chased Oliver, reducing the gap slightly towards the end. Oliver, however, had sufficient stamina for a strong sprint finish. The boys finished within 6 seconds of each other, and well ahead of the rest of the field. Oliver has now won his third race this season from 3 starts.
