Understanding the Role of the Boarding Tutors
One of Moulsford Boarding’s biggest strengths is without doubt the group of staff that we have to look after the boys. Each boarding evening has a minimum of five staff on duty, which enables us to keep a close eye on how they are getting on academically as well as offering a range of fun activities for the boys to take part in, including our current big event, Boarders’ Masterchef.
Each boarder is assigned two academic tutors, who are present on the nights that they board. The tutors’ job is to check in with the boys on a regular basis to ensure they are on top of their work and that they are happy in school and in the Boarding House.
We are lucky at Moulsford to have a wide variety of staff working in the Boarding House. As well as Jake Albon, who is Head of Boarding, this year we are fortunate to have Grant Smart, Todd Skinner, Luke Sparrow, Josh Scriven, Justin O'Reilly, Jim Hamilton-Smith, Sam Saunders, James Springer and Ollie Corbett on the team, along with Angela Gipson, Caroline Scriven and Chantal Albon who are our Boarding Matrons.
When boarding, the boys are provided with a quiet environment in which they can work, get help with anything that they need and make use of the school’s facilities to ensure their work is completed to the highest standard it can be.
If this sounds beneficial to your son, and if boarding may be of interest, then please get in touch with Mr Albon.
