Under 13 Oxfordshire County Cup
Our Under 13 hockey team took part in the Oxfordshire County Cup last week, playing one of their first big fixtures of the season. They had a tough pool and lost their first game 2-0 to Bloxham, but then drew 2-2 with St Hugh’s and 1-1 with the Dragon, both of whom equalised with us in the final seconds of the games. We then beat Abingdon Prep 5-0 which put us in to the plate where we faced our neighbourly rivals Cranford who took the early lead against us. However, that didn’t deter us and we fought back to win 2-1 which put us in to the plate final against Magdalen College School. We went ahead 1-0 and were keeping good possession of the ball but it was not to be and again in the final seconds MCS scored to make it 1-1!
As a new team they played really well and should be very proud of their first full competition this season.
