A Moulsford Clean Sweep

Six runners represented Moulsford in the second round of the Oxfordshire Primary Schools Cross Country Championship at the weekend. The race, held over 1500m took place at Maiden Erlegh Chiltern Edge School on a very wet and rainy morning. In fact, the debate prior to the start was whether trainers or rugby boots would be the more suitable choice of footwear.

The boys displayed a strong team spirit, warming up together and lining up to start side by side. Once underway the Year 4 boys settled into their order, holding the first four positions. All of the boys performed well with Oliver B, Lucas R and Finn R making a clean sweep of the podium, with just six seconds between the three of them. Gabriel E was just a short way behind, narrowly beaten into 5th position. Year 3’s Angus B also raced and finished in an excellent 11th. With one race remaining of the Winter Series, the school is in a very strong position to win the primary school championship.
