It has been a busy week for Moulsford events, which started with the Staff v Parents cricket match on Friday, running in parallel with Moulsford’s Got Talent (MGT). These events were superb fun and while I participated in both, it is fair to say that my cricket remains marginally stronger than my dancing. MGT once again showed off the breadth and variety of talent that we have in the school and it is so good to see boys perform with such confidence and enthusiasm. How wonderful that boys can sing, do impressions, play their instruments, solve the rubiks cube and more in front of a live audience.

Well done to the boys and thank you to Grace Lancaster and Graham Sage for their hard work behind the scenes, which ensured the success of MGT.  Thank you also to the Moulsford parents for supporting the event. Those of you who were there will not forget the staff dance, ‘Monstrosity’. Our choreographer, Jess Roberts, is very patient with us, and our thanks to Jess for getting us ‘match-fit’.

Those staff who were both playing cricket and dancing had a swift turnaround, with only ten minutes to switch from whites into tutus. The match was hotly contested but I am delighted to report that the staff just edged the win and I believe celebrations continued long into the night! Thanks to Grant Corbett and Jaimie Noble for arranging an excellent match.

It was wonderful to see the sports field awash with colour, noise, face paint, smoke flares and gazebos for Sports Day today. Another traditional Moulsford occasion that we are so pleased to see return. We have been delighted to see so many parents back on the school grounds this year, enjoying and sharing the very special journey that your sons take as they progress through Moulsford. Many thanks to Markus Orgill and Ollie Corbett for masterminding the day, and to Rob Lowden and the grounds staff for preparing the fields so beautifully.

On Saturday we will be stepping back in time for the ‘Sounds of the Sixties’ Ball, organised by the Moulsford Parents Association. I’ve had a sneak preview of the marquee which looks amazing. An enormous thank you to the Parents Association for all the work they put in to this wonderful event.  They have organised not one, but two MPA parties in one year!
