Nick Wood, Radley College
Season 2 Episode 2 of the High Performance Lunchtimes saw us welcome Nick Wood from Radley College via zoom to talk to the boys. We had roughly 50 boys watching in the theatre and 20 watching from home, which was certainly a new record turnout.
Nick is a former professional rugby player and now working as Head of Rugby at Radley. Nick talked about transferring from being a professional player to another career and focused on the importance of recognising one's own true identity to ensure the transition went smoothly. He identified the community of Radley being very strong which helped his move into teaching. Trust and a 'solutions' based approach to life were some characteristics he identified that he likes to see in people around him. Finally, his advice to his teenage self and the boys in general was simply to 'be kind'.
