Transported into books
The whole of Year 3 visited The Story Museum in Oxford this week to immerse themselves in books. They started off wandering around the wonderful galleries including the new exhibit The Treasure Chamber: The Book of Hopes which is inspired by the award winning 2020 book of the same title, which is about finding hope in the little things.
The Enchanted Library was the next stop with the boys falling down a rabbit hole, flying with The Snowman and stepping through the wardrobe into Narnia. They then entered the Whispering Wood, a mysterious indoor forest where every tree has a story to tell and a secret to reveal.
After this they took part in an excellent workshop looking at the set text Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, which they are studying in school. Finally they enjoyed an excellent walk around Christchurch College learning more about Alice in Wonderland. It was a fun trip and the boys were really engaged.
