Enthusiasm and positivity after a 2 year break
The rugby season is finally upon us and we are looking forward to bringing all the positivity from the football season into the remainder of 2021. The boys’ enthusiasm and energy to get out onto the rugby fields has been fantastic. Clearly, with a 2 year break in the school’s rugby seasons we have had to ensure that the sport is played in the safest way possible. Therefore, we have spent the first week and a half concentrating on a gradual re-acclimatisation to contact, focussing on good technique and body positions.
To help aid the progress of the boys' understanding and development in rugby, the RFU has decided that all junior age groups will play the previous year’s rules up until Christmas. This has fitted into our rugby season dates perfectly, as year groups will progress on to their current age group rules in January.
We’ve had some very exciting fixtures over the last week, playing against St John’s, Beaumont and Abingdon Prep. A lot of progress has already been made and we have been treated to a lot of competitive fixtures. Thank you for your ongoing support, it’s fantastic to see so many supporters on Wednesdays and Saturdays.
