A celebration of Years 3 to 8
Although our annual large scale Prize Day has not been possible this year, after the success of last year’s Year Group assemblies, these took place again on the penultimate day of term. Some year groups got together outside by the river whilst others got together virtually, but every single boy was recognised for their efforts over the last academic year. As well as the three main prizes for each class, Academic, Effort and Character, staff were able to award other ‘special awards’ meaning that each boy received recognition of something that they have done well over the last year. The awards ranged from subject-specific prizes like Effort in Maths and Progress in Spanish, through to prizes that celebrated special traits like awards for resilience and kindness and even some more fun awards like Best Lockdown Hair!
Each event was a fantastic way to thank the boys for all of their hard work this year and provided them with a way to celebrate the end of term with their friends.
Parents of the Year 8 boys attended their Leavers’ Prize Day on Wednesday, giving them the chance to ‘officially’ sign off their time at Prep School. It was an uplifting event with speeches from Mr Beardmore-Gray, our Chair of Governors Edward Boddington and Patrick Derham, former Headmaster of Westminster, Rugby and Solihull. It began with an entertaining speech from our three outgoing Head Boys Thomas H, Felix B and Will M and a surprise performance from the whole year group. You can watch their speeches here.
Congratulations to all of the Year 8 boys and we wish you every success at your Senior Schools.
