Head's Blog: An action-packed week

We have had an action-packed week. There was a great sense of anticipation in Year 2 as the boys embarked on an outing to Beale Park. It was so good for everyone to have the opportunity to go on a school trip, and they all loved seeing both the meerkats and other exciting animals.

Last week we had our first cricket fixtures of the season against Summer Fields with the boys playing through torrential rain. This week they braved hailstorms and arctic conditions versus the Oratory Prep School. We’ve been really impressed by how the boys coped on both days, and Angus J’s hat trick in a blizzard must be a first. While playing in unseasonable conditions is all good experience in building up the boys’ resilience, we are keeping our fingers crossed for better weather next Wednesday against Lambrook.

Lunch today was paella cooked outdoors in our comedy sized frying pan. Enormous thanks to Julie Windebank and the kitchen team for going the extra mile, and for providing the boys with the fuel and sustenance to power them round the Inter-House triathlon this afternoon, one of the highlights of the school calendar.
