Certificates Presented to Years 5 and 6
At the end of last term we were delighted to announce the results of the Primary Maths Challenge. The PMC is designed to be a fun and exciting mathematical challenge to encourage enthusiasm, boost confidence and get the children thinking of different ways to ask and answer questions. The PMC ensures the questions are not heavily reliant on formal mathematical knowledge, but can be solved by logical reasoning. The challenge also provided the boys with the useful reminder that they always need to read the questions carefully!
Open to pupils in Years 5 and 6, the PMC paper has 25 questions, 20 of these are multiple choice with the final five requiring an answer where no choices are given.
This year across both Year 5 and 6, we had 34 Certificate Winners; 18 Bronze; 10 Silver and 6 Gold and Xander M in Year 6 has been asked to proceed on to the next round so a particular well done to him!
