It has been a busy week gearing up for the Christmas performances, and while we are all extremely disappointed not to be having live productions, the silver lining is that the boys have had the opportunity to develop a range of new skills while recording their shows.
Miss Gould and Mr Squire have turned the theatre into our very own recording studio and boys in the Pre-Prep and Years 3 & 4 have experienced what is involved in producing high quality recorded performances. For certain scenes of the productions, we have recorded the audio and visual separately in order to achieve better quality. The boys have enjoyed singing under headphones to pre-recorded backing tracks, and have got a taste of how the music and film industry works.
This process will continue into next week, when we will also be recording the Carol Service featuring boys from Years 5 to 8. Because of restrictions on group numbers, we are sadly not able to include all the boys in the final recorded performance of the Carol Service, although everyone has participated in the rehearsals. We really hope parents enjoy these productions and our thanks go to the boys for being so flexible and patient while recording, and to the staff for using their creativity to ensure that the show goes on. Links for all Christmas performances will be sent to parents as soon as the editing process is completed.
And in other news………….it’s not every school that can boast a World Champion! Many congratulations to Leo in Year 7 who had a very successful week’s karting in Portimao, Portugal, winning the World Final, and thereby becoming the World Champion in the Mini X30 kart class! This follows his second place in the British Kart Championships, which he secured in a higher kart class a month ago. Click here for the full story.
We hope your boys enjoy a pit stop this weekend to catch their breath, as we race towards the end of term.
