Collective Voices Bring the House Down
Following the success of the inaugural ‘House Shout’ last year, excitement was high as the 2025 preparations got underway with a House Assembly on Monday morning where Heads of Houses and pupils made their song decisions. Intensive rehearsals then took place on Tuesday before a grand performance in front of our judges, JTAs Miss Dutton and Miss Wilson and our guitar teacher Mr Firth.
Using a random name generator, it put Amundsen up first with their sparkly version of ‘Titanium’ with tin foil costumes wowing the crowd, including Theo D and Archie T dressed from head to toe in foil!
Next up was Bering who had chosen ‘Hall of Fame’ by The Script and used framed photos of our judges to try and score extra points!
Cabot were called up next with Bonnie Tyler’s 80s classic ‘Holding out for a Hero’ with great singing, imaginative choreography and some great costumes.
Our final performers were Drake who performed ‘Thick of It’ by KSI with some excellent choreography and a star performance by Nathan K.
All four performances were fantastic and House spirit was extremely high but the Judges were unanimous in their decision and this year’s House Shout winners were Cabot! Congratulations to them and thank you to Mrs Braden, the Heads of Houses Mr Sage, Mrs Cummings, Mr Edwards and Mr McNaughton and everyone involved for their efforts on the day.
