Many congratulations to Archie Friend whose appointment as Head Boy of Millfield was announced on Monday. Archie, Fred Dreyer and Charlie Bradbury, pictured above at Prizegiving in July 2015, were all Head Boys of Moulsford in 2014/15. They are now Head Boys of Millfield, Radley and Wellington respectively. There are numerous other examples of Old Moles taking advantage of the wonderful opportunities in many different disciplines provided by their senior schools, and taking on senior positions. For example, three Moulsford boys who left in July 2019 were Captains of Rugby at Radley, Abingdon and St. Edward’s, Oxford last term, and in one of my October messages I referenced two Moulsford boys who have been awarded internal academic scholarships into the Marlborough 6th Form.
Last night, Alastair Land, the Headmaster of Harrow, visited Moulsford to talk to the Year 5 parents about choosing senior schools. Alastair spoke extremely well, giving very sound, sensible and practical advice to parents, and took questions after. One of his central themes was of the absolute importance of your son being happy at their senior school, and you as parents being absolutely in tune with the culture and values of the school.
Moulsford has very strong relationships with both Harrow and many other schools. My experience is that senior schools love Moulsford boys because they are well-prepared, well-mannered, look out for others and get stuck in. Find more information about destination schools.
