A wonderful end to the year
The weather may not have played ball, with rain causing the traditional outdoor riverside picnic and concert to move inside, but the change in venue did not dampen spirits.
A varied and packed line-up included an eclectic mix of musical styles with boys performing on a variety of instruments. The Senior Orchestra, Percussion Ensemble, String Ensemble, Senior Choir, Pop Choir and Junior Choir (consisting of the whole of Year 3 and 4) gave memorable performances, as did all of our talented soloists who enjoyed the enthusiastic response from the audience. There really was some phenomenal talent on show. It was also fantastic to hear some of our younger musicians with a Year 5 band doing a rousing rendition of Sweet Child O Mine.
Interspersed amongst the music were some drama performances delivered by boys in Years 7 and 8, which were a welcome addition to the evening’s programme.
The finale featuring the entire 160 performers brought the concert to a magnificent end, with everyone’s hard work and enthusiasm helping to make it a night to remember.
Congratulations and thank you to Mrs Braden for such a wonderful end to her first year as Director of Music.
