We are eagerly awaiting the arrival of the school Christmas tree and the wreath will be on the front door on Monday, so the festive season is clearly upon us! Across the school, the children have been busy rehearsing for the upcoming productions including the Year 3 Christmas Play ‘Lights Camel Action!’, the Year 4 concert and the Pre-Prep plays, which will be the first live performance for many of the children, not least the Pre-School. These productions provide a fantastic opportunity for children in the lower years to perform in front of an audience. Members of the Senior Choir will be visiting Rush Court to spread some Moulsford festive cheer among the elderly residents and of course we will have one of the biggest events in the Moulsford musical calendar, the Carol Service at Pangbourne College. This traditional service of nine lessons and carols will feature performances from all of the boys in Years 5 and 6 as well as members of the Senior Choir and Orchestra and readers from across the school.
Christmas really does allow Moulsford to highlight the performing arts and on Saturday 10th December we will host the always popular Parents Association Christmas Fair. This is a wonderful community event on a similar scale to Moulsford’s Got Talent and Bonfire Night and we are delighted that it can be held in person for the first time since 2019. We hope that many of you will be able to attend what promises to be a tremendous morning. Not only will you be able to listen to the Junior and Senior Choir, but you will also have the opportunity to shop at a wide selection of excellent stalls while raising valuable funds for the Parents Association. I hear the famous ‘Human Fruit Machine’ will be making an appearance as well. The school is extremely grateful to the PA team led by Sarah Hollins for organising this super event.
