Opportunity to perform
Mrs Braden, our Director of Music, has recently launched the Friday Showcase, which takes place during morning break every Friday. This new drop-in activity provides all of the boys the opportunity to perform in the Music Room or the Theatre to gain performance experience. The boys might want to try out an exam piece, show off a song they have just perfected, or simply use the time to develop their confidence by playing for a supportive audience.
Last week Toby O and Hugh H both came and performed piano pieces and this week we welcomed pianists Teddy C and Wilf O. The boys all played beautifully and Mrs Braden is hoping that more musicians will take the opportunity to visit the Music Room in the coming months to ‘give it a go’.
Along with the showcase, there is so much going on musically around the school with the Jazz, Percussion and String Ensembles, Orchestra, Junior and Senior Choirs and Pop choir. We are very much looking forward to hearing some performances next week as part of Arts Week.
