The new Moulsford Pre-Prep is up and running and the first weeks of term have been a huge success. Inevitably there have been some minor teething problems as we have all settled into new routines, and thank you very much to both parents and pupils who have been extremely understanding and patient, and have played a very large part in ensuring such a smooth start to the new academic year. It really is a fabulous building, and the staff are delighted with the layout and flow, which creates an outstanding learning environment.
Maintaining a whole school ethos is so important for us and this is an area we will continue to prioritise. Above all, it is key that all the children in the school feel a strong connection to one community. It’s great to welcome many of the Pre-Prep boys to the Prep site regularly for various activities, and we are also thoroughly looking forward to seeing the Reception children from Wildcats and Tigers classes in the Prep School on Tuesday, as part of their tour of Moulsford village.
Teaching staff regularly move between the two sites with Mrs Squire, Mr Squire, Miss Gould and Mrs Braden being regular visitors. Likewise, Prep school staff regularly join the Pre-Prep for lunch, which is such a great way to get to know the younger children. I thoroughly enjoyed my lunch there on Tuesday, as you can see from the photo above.
Both Year 7 and 8 boys have had a full tour of the new site, and it is lovely to see the interaction between the boys of different ages. We have plans for other year groups to have similar tours. Equally, we are very keen for parents to see the new building, and we are holding the year group coffee mornings (for those able to attend) in the Pre-Prep hall.
Finally, thank you to all those boys in Year 7 who have helped us today for Open Day and to Year 6, 7 and 8 boys who will be assisting at tomorrow’s Open Morning. The boys’ involvement is greatly appreciated and they are wonderful ambassadors for the school.
