Head's Blog: New Appointments

Head's Blog

It has been wonderful to look out on a sea of red, white and blue today as we have celebrated the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in school. The appearance of the Queen caused a lot of excitement amongst the Moulsford community this morning, and I was delighted as boys greeted me on their arrival in school with “Good morning, Your Majesty”.

I talk a lot about community and the important role it plays at school, and this is particularly evident with the role of the Moulsford Parents Association. We are so lucky to have such a fantastic calendar of social events for parents to attend and the boys benefit hugely from the fundraising efforts. The new pottery wheel is proving particularly popular. Our current Chair Louise Holland and MPA Secretary, Anna Simpson will be stepping down from their positions at the next AGM in March. They have done a super job in very tough conditions and we are extremely grateful for their wonderful contribution. Ideally, Louise and Anna would like to have their replacements secured by September 2022, so they can begin a handover process. Being part of the PA committee is extremely rewarding and we would encourage you to get involved if you can. It is a great way to get to know other parents, staff, to better understand the workings of the school, and to raise invaluable funds for the benefit of the boys. Please contact [email protected] for more information about the roles.

Looking ahead to September, I am delighted to announce that Jaimie Noble has been appointed Director of Activities with effect from September 2022. Jaimie will work closely with Chris Symonds (the current Director) this term to ensure a smooth transition. Thank you very much to Chris for all that he has done for Moulsford activities over the past 6 years. He reinvented the programme over this period and leaves an excellent legacy in the breadth of opportunity for the boys and in the Moulsford Award. Chris will be taking on a new role of Director of Trips & Compliance from September.

Sadly Jess Ringelberg will be leaving us at the end of the term to relocate to Devon and take up a new post at Mount Kelly Prep School. Markus Orgill will also be stepping down as Head of Year 7 but will continue as Head of PE and with Jake Albon taking over the Boarding House this has led to a number of key staff changes. I am therefore very pleased to announce the following Heads of Year appointments with effect from September 2022:

  • Head of Year 5 – Graham Sage
  • Head of Year 6 – Luke Sparrow
  • Head of Year 7 – Paul Dunsby

We hope that you enjoy the Jubilee celebrations and have a restful half term break.
