We have been blessed with good weather this term, particularly on match days. Wednesday’s twelve rugby fixtures for Years 5 to 8 against Ludgrove were no exception, as were yesterday’s football matches against Summer Fields for all fifty-four Year 3 boys. It is great to see so many Moulsford parents watching the teams both home and away, and thank you very much for supporting these fixtures.

On Wednesday, we also hosted staff from four senior schools who were keen to meet the boys, staff and parents and see Moulsford in action. Andrew Grounds, Housemaster at Tilly’s House at St Edward’s Oxford kindly refereed the U11A game, with Sam Beckett, Head of Rugby at Shiplake taking charge of the U12A fixture. We were also joined by Kyle Willis-Stovold, the Housemaster of J Social at Radley, and Olly Morgan, the Director of Rugby at Cheltenham College. Nurturing and developing these relationships between the Moulsford community and a broad range of senior schools, at many different levels, is so important, and has many spin off benefits for your boys. Likewise, it is also excellent for you as parents to gain an insight into the secondary schools through conversations with their staff on the touchline, particularly following a period when it has been so difficult for you to visit the schools in person.

Enormous congratulations to Russell English, our Head of Science, who completed a twenty-four hour rowathon early on Sunday morning. Russell’s effort was quite outstanding and he raised very valuable funds for both the University Hospitals Coventry and Warwickshire (UHCW) Charity and Soundabout, one of Moulsford’s chosen charities for the year. It was also wonderful to see the amazing support which Russell received from the Moulsford staff, who ensured he had a support team throughout his adventure/ordeal. Particular mention should go to Todd Skinner and Grace Lancaster who rowed with Russell and supported him through his darkest hours.
