There have been some wonderful televised Remembrance commemorations over the past week, and I am sure many families have enjoyed watching these together.
While it is impossible not to be touched with sorrow for those whose lives have been torn apart by war, the services also give us hope and optimism for a better future. They are also a central piece of the fabric which binds communities and nations together through shared identity and culture. With the current restrictions, it was not possible to hold our annual service in the normal way, but we felt it was very important for the Moulsford community to mark the event.
Another reason for hope and optimism this week, was the positive news on a potential vaccine for Covid-19. While there are still many bridges to be crossed, I am sure that this will have provided a beacon of light for families to focus on during these difficult times. We hope that next year’s Remembrance Service will be returned to its normal format.
