Fifteen Certificates for Moulsford

Our boys in Years 7 and 8 recently took part in the Intermediate Maths Challenge run by the UK Mathematics Trust (UKMT).  The challenge is a 60-minute, multiple-choice competition aimed at students from Years 9, 10 and 11 across the UK.

The competition encourages mathematical reasoning, precision of thought, and fluency in using basic mathematical techniques to solve interesting problems, which are designed to make students think.

This year we did spectacularly well with Oli S (Year 8) being awarded the Best in School Award and gaining a gold certificate closely followed by Jack Doherty (Year 7) who gained a silver certificate. Both of these boys have been invited to participate in the next stage of the competition, but due to the current situation, it is unlikely to proceed this year.

We are delighted that the following boys were also awarded bronze certificates:

Ben K, Douglas A, Felix D, Isen C, James B, Theo P (Year 8) and Harry M, Harry T, James L, Max F, Oliver H, Thomas F and Thomas H (Year 7).

It is a real achievement to be competing with students who are much further ahead in their stage of education.  Huge congratulations to all of the boys who took part.
