Fun at the Roald Dahl Museum
Year 3 had a whizpopping, ratwhizzler couple of days at the Roald Dahl Museum!
Each day we started with a scenic walk around Great Missenden; stopping along the way to see sights and places that inspired Roald Dahl’s writing. We saw the petrol pumps of Danny the Champion of the World, the window where Sophie first caught sight of the BFG and the library where Matilda would sneak off to every afternoon. We even managed to fit in a trip to the local churchyard to see where Roald Dahl is buried.
In the museum, we started with a workshop that got us creating our very own Gruncher! We focused on how important it is that an author and illustrator work together to create such imaginative characters and creatures. After a trip around the museum, where we learnt about Roald Dahl’s life, we were back in the workshop creating our very own characters!
We left feeling inspired and ready to write our own creative stories - with plenty of character description!
