Rivertime Boat Trust

Moulsford’s UK-based charity for 2019-20 is ‘Rivertime Boat Trust’ (RBT).  It is a local charity, which believes that disabled and disadvantaged children and young adults of varying abilities should have the opportunity to get involved with the river and accessible water sports. ‘Rivertime’ is committed to spreading their ‘concept’ of a safe, supportive, vibrant and stimulating environment, the length of the Thames and across the UK.

This week Moulsford has hosted some local SEND schools and provided them with a safe, welcoming environment from which to use the river.  Pupils from Thames Valley School in Reading, Great Marlow School, Chiltern Wood in High Wycombe, Wren School in Reading and Fitzwaryn School in Wantage all came and took part in some paddling on specially adapted boats in collaboration with RBT's ‘Accessible Boating Thames' operation who are based at Bisham Abbey Sailing School.

Providing an experience like this costs the charity £5,000 and so Moulsford’s fundraising will really make a difference and enable more children who wouldn’t normally get the chance to get out on the river or engage in any form of water sports.
