Interesting Talk from Eton’s Imam, Monawar Hussain
As part of the Religious Studies Common Entrance syllabus, the Year 8 boys undertake a project on a major world religion, which counts for 30% of their overall mark. The current Year 8s have chosen to study Islam, with specific focus on the Hajj, which is an annual Islamic pilgrimage to Mecca, the most holy city of the Muslims.
We were delighted to welcome Monawar Hussain, the Imam at Eton College, to come and talk to the Year 8 boys about his experience of the Hajj. It was fascinating to hear first-hand experience of one of the five pillars of Islam.
